Initial Contact Contact is made by either email contact@melaniemeyer.net or phone 260.760.5581 Things to think about and discuss: Where would you like your photographs taken, what looks are you going for, is there anything specific that you would like to incorporate into your session, what will you wear/bring with you? I will gladly make suggestions but I am open to most ideas. If this is a location session, old buildings, parks, schools, wooden barns, brick walls, graffti, vehicles, a field, all make for nice backdrops. Go on a search for places you think you'd like to have your photographs taken, jot down notes. |
I will travel anywhere in the Fort Wayne and surrounding areas including but not limited to: Ossian, Bluffton, Huntington, Decatur, Waynedale. A portrait session packet will be sent to your home address after initial contact has been made and an appointment has been scheduled. This packet will outline my current pricing structure and policies. It will also include a portrait session agreement and session information along with a return envelope. A portrait session agreement must be signed and returned 7 business days prior to the actual session taking place. The session fee will be collected at this time as well and is non-refundable. This must also be received 7 days prior to your actual session taking place in order to reserve your scheduled appointment date/time. This fee is secured for my time and talent, equipment setup and removal only. A portrait session will not be held until the portrait agreement is returned and session fee has been received.
Clothing Choices Solid colors are the best choice for your portraits, it's best to try and avoid distracting patterns and logos, directing attention to you as the main focal point of the images. It's not always necessary to wear formal clothing for nice portraits. Casual, simple clothing that you are comfortable in may just be what you're looking for. Something you are comfortable and relaxed in will give a more natural look to your portraits. Denim looks great in photos and hats are always a plus. Bring several changes of clothing and anything you'd like to use to accessorize your wardrobe., this will also bring your personality in to the protrait. The more we have to work with the better your chances are of getting portraits that scream "you." The Portrait Session This is where we will create memories that will last a lifetime! We will spend up to three hours taking photographs. This time all depends on what type of photograph you are looking for. My objective is to capture the real you, your personality, something unique. |
Some direction will be provided but your input is what will really make your portraits stand out. I work on-location and primarily photograph in a natural lighting situation, either in your home or a location of your choice. I do have the equipment to offer a studio session in your home, provided there is adequate space. If this is something that you're interested in. It is imperative that we stick to the scheduled time frame alloted for the portraits, this will ensure that we achieve the best possible lighting situation for your portrait session. If weather does not cooperate and this is an outdoor session, you can either choose an indoor location (such as the botanical gardens) or you can choose to reschedule the portrait session. You will not be charged an additional session fee under these circumstances. Overcast days' work quite nicely.
The Proofing Session At this session you will get to see the images. I advise that you have anyone who is important to the ordering process present for this session. I will be happy to work with you on a meeting time and place that is appropriate. Because I am a digital photographer, proofs may be viewed either on a computer and/or viewed as printed 5x7's, these will only be available for purchase in an album. I do not allow clients to take the album home with them unless it is paid for in full. Due to the nature of Custom Portraiture, the total cost of your print order is due at the time of the proofing session when you place your order. For your convenience, an online ordering system is now available using paypal. You must sign up for an account, this is a free and secure method for payment. Credit cards are accepted using this method of payment.
